Hey Little Red Riding Hood, did you ever see the class clown suddenly kick butt and become ultra-popular? Consider... he might have just been bitten by a werewolf, the ultimate personality doctor!

In Cursed, dorky Jimmy (Jesse Eisenberg "Rodger Dodger") and his career-driven, wanna-be TV producer sister Ellie (Christina Ricci) make the best of living without parents. One moonlit night while the two are driving in the L.A. hills, something shadowy crosses the road causing their car to swerve off a cliff. The two tangle with some "animal" in the dark and Jimmy swears he sees a werewolf (which we know eats Shannon Elizabeth) but of course, he isn't believed. The bro and sis seem to have few injuries from the wreck but the two gradually discover lots of changes. Ellie is suddenly hot, hot, mega-attractive to all guys and girls at school start to take notice of Jimmy. There is also increased physical strength and the usual sharp animalistic senses to deal with. Raw meat starts looking pretty tasty.

The duo discovers that these new powers have a price and a "curse". There is a mystery to solve and some bad critters to fight if they want to survive.

This Wes Craven film had a rocky start; cast changes, story problems, etc. and it shows. However, I found the first 2/3rds of the film to be scary and full of intentionally funny moments. I enjoyed the all-star teen-friendly cast (Christina, "Dawson's Creek's" Joshua Jackson, Portia de Rossi, Shannon Elizabeth, Mya, Michael Rosenbaum in a bad wig, Craig Kilborn as himself, Lance Bass as himself, even Scott Baio as himself) to be fun to watch.
