DVD Review: One Tree Hill: The Complete First Season
Feb 23, 2005 - Joanna Kostanecki
The story surrounds Nathan Scott (James Lafferty) and Lucas (Chad Michael Murray), two half-brothers living very separate and very different lives. Both are exceptional basketball players, but while one is a popular jock, the other stays in the shadows. Undoubtedly, high school existence brings them together and the two are left to deal with competitive struggles on and off the court. The challenges facing these brothers include the parental split which left them estranged, love-triangles, and well, the rest of the complications facing teenagers today.
The six-disc set features all 22 episodes filled with dark family secrets, forbidden lust and plenty of teen angst. The teen drama's premiere season includes the episode that started it all, never before-seen footage, an exclusive Gavin DeGraw musical performance and a behind-the-scenes peek at the making of the show. "One Tree Hill" looks to be yet another addition to the hits The WB has been rolling out over the past few seasons.
