Actress Alicia Silverstone has won a role on Queen Latifah's upcoming Beauty Shop movie, following the shelving of her acclaimed new TV series Miss Match.
The Clueless star had hoped her quirky show, in which she played a divorce lawyer-turned-matchmaker, would be a big hit
when it debuted in America last autumn but the ratings failed to materialize, and now the show has been canned.
But the screen beauty has quickly snapped up a role as a stylist in Latifah's salon.
Mena Suvari will appear in the film as an opinionated socialite alongside In America star Djimon Hounsou, who plays Latifah's love interest in the Barbershop spin-off, directed by Bille Woodruff.
