Fans of Buffy, The Vampire Slayer spin-off Angel have joined forces on the internet to protest the axing of the supernatural show.

Recently, bosses at the WB TV network announced Angel's fifth and current season would be its final, which has prompted more than 45,000 Angel devotees to sign an online petition at Petitiononline.com to keep the drama alive.

And a representative at WB admits the fans' efforts may not be in vain, explaining, "It (helped) Roswell. It was as good as gone and the big fan campaign brought it back."
