Teens Riot At You Got Served Cinemas
Feb 3, 2004 - World Entertainment News Network
New hip-hop movie You Got Served has been causing a commotion - a handful of teenagers were arrested in Los Angeles over the weekend following fights among cinema audiences.
Problems, believed to be gang related, erupted on Friday night and continued through Saturday as fans lined up for tickets to see the movie, which stars split R+B group B2K.
At one cinema in South Los Angeles, police created a 'riot line' in a bid to cool tempers.
Authorities are still investigating what led to the trouble. They are refusing to blame the movie itself because most of those involved in the fights at three cinemas had yet to see the film.
The trouble failed to ruin the movie's first weekend take - it made $16 million to take the top spot at the American box office.
