Beyonce Knowles' younger sister Solange is set to become a sitcom star after signing a deal with an American TV network.

Solange, who last year made attempts to follow in the musical footsteps of her chart-topping sibling, has inked a talent holding deal with UPN and is expected to end up in one of the network's comedy pilots.

Solange, 17, already has one acting job under her belt - she hits the big screen next year in Cedric The Entertainer's movie Johnson Family Vacation, which also features teen rapper Bow Wow.
