The Fall 2001 TV Season
May 23, 2001 - Chris Lamb

It is late May and all the major television networks have released their fall 2001 line-ups. While many of the shows you love remain on TV, there has also been some surprising changes. So read on and see which series remain and which may become your favorite new show.
The WB Network faces surprising change this season after UPN outbid them for the Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. After 100 episodes, Buffy will continue on UPN, and really, all you have to do is switch the channel and all is well, but the WB has been taking a lot of heat for losing the show and the subsequent canceling of Roswell (also to air on UPN this fall).
Vampire slayers aside, this is what The WB has in store for us; it will keep its main programs alive, shows like Dawson's Creek, 7th Heaven, Charmed, Angel, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but will also draw on half-hour comedies in order to bring new viewers to the network. These new shows are: Maybe I'm Adopted, which centers on 15-year-old Molly Stage (Reagan Dale Neis) who — like most girls her age — feels as if she's surrounded by a family of freaks; and Raising Dad, a family-friendly comedy starring Bob Saget who plays a teacher with a teenage daughter named Sarah. The last thing Sarah needs is her teacher-father invading her space...and mucking up her cool image...every day in his classroom.
