Shia LaBeouf thriller Eagle Eye fell from first to second, taking $17.7 million in its second week.
Nick + Norah's Infinite Playlist debuted at third with $12 million.
Richard Gere and Diane Lane's love story Nights in Rodanthe and Ed Harris-directed Appaloosa finished fourth and fifth.
