Aug. 25--VH1's "I Want to Work for Diddy" is like "The Apprentice" with a hip-hop spin.

The contest to be hired as Sean Combs' personal assistant has a cool theme song with a James Bond flavor and a frightening contestant nicknamed Poprah, a young woman whose quest for world domination apparently starts with reality TV.

And get a load of the catchphrase -- instead of "You're fired!," it's "Security!"

The show also has a Detroit connection in Suzanne Siegel, a 37-year-old former reporter for the Detroit Free Press (1996-1998) who's competing against Poprah and the other would-be Diddy employees.

Siegel, who covered the crime beat at the Free Press, says journalism was good preparation for her current challenge.

"Covering murder in Detroit certainly will toughen up any girl," says the Bronx native. "I was constantly trying to convince people to talk to me during the worst moments of their lives."

Now she's taking on tasks like convincing a Parisian model to drop everything and fly immediately to New York for a Sean John sunglasses shoot.

Her team won that challenge, even with Poprah as a member. Jokes Siegel, "I met quadruple murderers and covered all their court cases and everything else. Poprah is way scarier than any of those people. She's like 250 pounds of just pure evil."
