Gossip Girl's Chase Crawford at Teen Choice 2008
Aug 4, 2008 - Lynn Barker
Cutie Chase Crawford of "Gossip Girl" (winner of the "Choice TV Show: Drama", and "Choice TV Breakout Show", won an award as "Choice TV: Male Breakout Star. He was asked if "Gossip Girl" was a good influence on teens...
Chase: Well, it's not a reality show. It's just pure entertainment. I think they don't give teenagers enough credit. It's not an instruction manual on how to have sex and drink and do drugs. In the end, kids are going to find it on the internet. The show will be there regardless of the actors so I'm just a part of it, not an expert.
Q: What are you going to do with your surfboard?
Chase: Surf with it? Will you teach me? (uh, we don't really surf very well). I think I'll put it up on the ceiling because there's just no room.
Q: What's the craziest gossip you've heard about yourself?
Chase: Probably that I see ghosts. I'm mean that would be cool but it never happens.
Q: What are you glad that you don't have to deal with anymore, now that you aren't a teen?
Chase: Well, I feel like I'm perpetually in high school now so I'm still a teenager and I'm 23. I guess school!
Q: What's the biggest issue facing teens today?
Chase: There's a pressure to grow up faster now. The internet and all the information. It's hard to keep kids with any level of pure innocence.
