Former rapper William Troy McCune is suing the makers of a Notorious B.I.G. documentary, claiming they used footage of him without his permission.

The star, who enjoyed success during the late 1980s and early 1990s, is seeking $5 million from the producers of 2007 film Notorious B.I.G.: Bigger Than Life.

It featured interviews with close friends and associates of Notorious B.I.G, real name Christopher Wallace.

McCune's lawsuit alleges, "This segment of the plaintiff (McCune) and Christopher Wallace is shown throughout the video and is a dominant feature in the extras portion. The use of the photograph, image, and likeness of the plaintiff, in the video by the defendants, jointly and severally, and acting in active concert was unauthorised."
