Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez has u-turned on his decision to ban The Simpsons from TV - allowing the popular U.s. cartoon to be shown at a later time.

The long-running cartoon has been replaced earlier this month after Chavez deemed it contained "messages that go against the whole education of boys, girls and adolescents".

However, in a shock move, regulators have decided to keep showing the long-running show - but have moved it to a 7pm slot.

But the channel, Televen Tv, may now face fines and could even be banned from broadcasting for three days after regulators insist the channel ignored orders insisting the show should be dropped from its original 11am time slot.
