The cast of U.s. TV show Buffy The Vampire Slayer reunited at Los Angeles' William S. Paley Television Festival on Thursday night.

Sarah Michelle Gellar, Amber Benson, Nicholas Brendon, Charisma Carpenter, Emma Caulfield, Seth Green, James Marsters and Michelle Trachtenberg got together with the show's creator Josh Whedon to reminisce about the supernatural program, which ran from 1997 to 2003.

Gellar recalled the moment she landed the lead role on the show, which was a spin-off of a 1992 movie also called Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

She said, "All my friends felt sorry for me because I was... on a network (The Wb) no one had heard of and on a show based on a movie that wasn't all that."
