Singer Christina Milian is heading for the big screen - as a trophy cheerleader in a remake of 1987 teen comedy "Can't Buy Me Love."

The singer and MTV host will team up with Nickelodeon TV star Nick Cannon in the movie, which originally starred Patrick Dempsey and Amanda Peterson.

In the movie an unpopular kid hires a cheerleader to be his bogus girlfriend in order to improve his social status.
