Pop superstar Justin Timberlake leads the nominations for the 2007 Mtv Europe Music Awards - he's up for four prizes.

The 26-year-old singer is up for the Headliner Award, Ultimate Urban Act and Video Star Award, and faces competition from Nelly Furtado, Avril Lavigne and Rihanna in the Solo Artist Of 2007 category.

Elsewhere, Lavigne, Furtado, Rihanna, Beyonce Knowles, Amy Winehouse, Fall Out Boy, Linkin Park and My Chemical Romance have three nominations apiece.

The 2007 Mtv Europe Music Awards will be hosted by rapper Snoop Dogg and will take place in Munich, Germany on November 1st.
