Hip-hop star Ludacris is exchanging rap for a return to school - and will take the post as a college professor later this year in a new show focusing on contemporary history-makers.

The rapper - real name Chris Bridges - will make a return to academia with new Mtv show "Stand In".

According to Mtv, Bridges will "surprise a college classroom, stand-in for a professor and takes students out of their books for a chance to learn from those making history today".

The show will also feature singer Annie Lennox and Ellen Johnston-Sirleaf, the President of Liberia.

Stand In will air on the network in October, reports AllHipHop.com.
