Rising Star Lands Supergirl Role

Hollywood newcomer Laura Vandervoort has landed the lead role in a TV remake of Supergirl.
The Canadian actress, who has appeared in The Dresden Files and Mutant X, has been cast as the superheroine by the producers of TVS Smallville, reports Moviehole.net.
Smallville co-creator Al Gough, says "She's a combination of beauty, intelligence, a certain warmth, and great attitude."
"We've wanted a character to shake things up. She may be Clark Kent's cousin, but that doesn't mean she's going to be the obedient one!"
