In this award-winning blend of fantasy and horror (watch out..R-rated for violence and language) we're in Spain in 1944 at the end of a bloody civil war. Young Ofelia travels with her pregnant mother (her dad has died) to the isolated camp/home of her new stepfather Captain Vidal who is evil incarnate. Gradually, imaginative Ofelia sees fantasy creatures and believes she is really Princess Moanna, who must return to her underworld kingdom. As horrors in the real world increase, is the girl just imagining all this or.... Is it real?

Video and Audio: Great look! The browns and muted colors look crisp and the black levels look very good. All the fantasy creatures are very clear and crisp. The Dolby digital mixes put the creepy sounds and dialogue through a real range of speakers. Well-balanced and you have optional English subtitles. An all-around great experience.
