What if Owen Wilson came to visit you... and never left? Okay by you or could even fun Owen wear thin? That is the situation Kate Hudson and Matt Dillon are stuck with in You, Me and Dupree.

Randy Dupree (Owen Wilson) is the slacker best bud to old pal Carl Peterson (Matt Dillon). Dupree arrives late for Carl's wedding rehearsal in Hawaii because he first landed on the wrong island. Things go downhill from there. Carl takes Dupree in when he's evicted, loses his job and has nowhere to go. Carl forgets to ask schoolteacher new wife Molly (Kate Hudson) if Dupree's invasion is okay with her. Bad move, Carl!

At work, land developer/architect Carl is coping with his wife's dad (Michael Douglas) who promotes him then trashes all his projects because he feels no guy is really good enough for his daughter. At home, Dupree means well, starts having fun with the neighborhood kids but just keeps wrecking Carl and Molly's house through one scheme or another culminating in a candle-lit evening of love with his new girlfriend that sets the house on fire!

Turns out, Carl is so busy with work that Dupree ends up spending quality time with Molly. The marriage is about to fall apart when Dupree helps Carl realize that he's losing the best thing in his life and he'd better quit his job and find his real "Carl-ness", the thing that makes him unique. Will Carl get Molly back? Will Dupree get off Carl's couch?
