The sequel to Underworld, Underworld: Evolution continues the story of war between the Death Dealers (vampires) and the more barbaric Lycans (werewolves). In a flashback to ancient times, we see the beginnings of the long-standing feud between the two tribes. Meanwhile Selene (Kate Beckinsale), the hot vampire chick heroine, and Michael (Scott Speedman), the lycan hybrid, fall more in love and try to discover more about their bloodlines. Ancient vampire bigwig Markus is awakened and is out to find his bro (a werewolf) who was locked away for all eternity in a hidden tomb. Secrets are revealed and Selene and Michael are in for the battle of their lives (uh deaths??). Warning: R-rated: Tons of movie blood and guts in this one.

Video: The anamorphic widescreen (2.40:1) transfer is really crisp. The many dark scenes (dark costumes, dark caverns, etc.) come through really well as does the gore.
