Chris 'Ludacris' Bridges is set to star in US TV show Law + Order: Special Victims Unit as fellow rapper/actor Ice-T's nephew.

The Stand Up hitmaker's cameo is the latest in a string of acting roles for Bridges - he recently starred in Oscar-nominated movie Crash, and has also had roles in 2 Fast, 2 Furious and Hustle And Flow.

He tells the New York Daily News, "I have been a fan of Dick Wolf's Law + Order for a long time."

"When I was approached to work on SVU and read the script, there was no way that I could turn down this amazing opportunity. The character was so rich and the story line so complex that I knew it was something I had to do."

The episode will air in the US on March 28th.
