Want a laugh and a fun scare? Watch Paris Hilton, Elisha Cuthbert, Chad Michael Murray and Jared Padalecki run from a creep who likes to cover his victims in wax and display them. The characters are six college students on a road trip. Of course car trouble means a trip off into the boonies where the students discover a weird dude who collects road kill and a whole lost town peopled only by a strange gas station owner. The center of town is the "House of Wax", a museum that is also totally made of wax right down to the walls and the furniture.

As usual in a horror/slasher flick, kids start biting the dust one by one until only a couple are left to confront the wax "artist" running the whole show.

Video: Transfer seems okay. It might be the original theatrical print but picture is a little grainy in the darker scenes but colors are pretty bright and facial tones are okay. Hey, the blood is as red as Paris's underwear so what else can you ask for?

Audio: The Dolby Digital 5.1 sound seems well balanced. This soundtrack isn't bombastic with music so the ambient sounds of creaking doors and melting wax come through crisply.
