We Visit the CSI Set!

Hey, what's more fun right after lunch than examining dead bodies (fake ones of course) and hanging out with lab rats, CSI's and coroners? We went over to Universal Studios to find out what life is like for the cast of the most popular show on TV after the departure of the Gil Grissom character (William Petersen) in this week's episode. We were glad to see that everyone is doing fine although all miss "Billy" Petersen a lot. "Newbie" to the show, renowned actor Laurence Fishburne, (Morbius of "The Matrix" films) is fitting in just fine and having a blast, playing Professor Ray Langston, who joins the unit, thank you.

But, hey, a lot of older teens and college kids watch this popular show so any chance of a more teen-oriented storyline coming up? Yes!! Show Runner Naren Shankar told us that singing sensation Taylor Swift, 19, is making her primetime acting debut on the show playing Haley Jones, a teen from a lower-class family of seedy Las Vegas motel owners whose luck goes downhill with tragic results.

I asked Shankar about a possible storyline that might bring back CSI Catherine Willow's teen daughter, played by Kay Panabaker and both he and series star Marg Helgenberger, who plays Catherine, agreed that it's a definite possibility and that Kay is an amazing young actress that they would both like to work with again.

In answering our question about what storyline she would love to see Catherine play, Marg told us about a forensic class at her son's school. Many of these classes have popped up in school systems since the popular CSI shows have interested teens in the science of crime scene investigation and forensics in general. Marg would like to see Catherine's teen daughter take one of these classes at school then she and perhaps her whole class, could help in solving a CSI case. We love it! We hope we see it on the show soon.
