"The Hills" star Lauren Conrad wins "Choice TV: Female Reality/Variety Star"

Lauren Conrad from "The Hills" won for "Choice TV: Female Reality/Variety Star" and told us she was especially happy to win her award because it came from kids, people that watch her every week. She won a surf board last year and this new one will join it on display at her mom's house.

Q: What's the biggest issue facing teens today?

Lauren: I'm personally involved in a campaign called "Empowerment" that raises awareness in trying to prevent violence in relationships with young women. That's been a cause that's close to me.

Q: What's the best thing about being on reality TV and the worst?

Lauren: My favorite thing is the fans. They're always so cool. It's great to have someone come up and say you made an impact in their life and what's the worst? There's a bit of a lack of privacy.

Q: Favorite beauty tip?

Lauren: Less is more.
