Chad Michael Murray Backstage at Teen Choice '08

Chad Michael Murray of "One Tree Hill" who won for "Choice TV Actor: Drama" looked like his surf board was an easy carry and had some solid advice for teens.

Q: What problems do teens face today?

Chad: I think they have a lot less respect for their parents to be honest. I think that needs to be addressed. I would want them, next time their parents ask them to do the dishes, do their homework, mow the lawn don't make them ask you twice. When you get home tonight, just go and give mom and dad a big hug and a kiss and it'll go a lot farther. There are a lot of big issues going on in the world that we know about, the environment and who's going to be the next President. Let's think about the basics first and I think it's going to start with the kids.

Chad gushed that his current girlfriend/fiancé Kenzie Dalton, a former crew member on "One Tree Hill", makes him laugh and is the first girl he's dated who has really done so. "It's not that she's just pretty or anything, she's my bud! She supports me. Hey, all the girls out there who think being funny is not sexy, you're wrong! I think the best relationship is with someone who is your best friend. We are just goofballs together and I love that".

Q: Where are you going to put your surfboard award?

Chad: I actually have a spot for it on the wall in my office. It's been calling to me. It's kind of naked right now. That's where it's going to go.

Q: What would you never leave home without?

Chad: I've got a necklace around my neck that my lady gave me. I try not to leave home without that and my wit.

Q: How is Miley doing tonight?

Chad: I think she's rocking it! I've never met her. You hear about her everywhere you go. That girl has energy to spare. She's doing a great job tonight. She should be proud of herself when it's over.
