Actress Eva Longoria is desperate to become a mother - both on and off the screen.

The Desperate Housewives star - who plays Gabrielle Solis in the hit U.s. TV show - can't wait to settle down and start a family of her own.

And when the sexy Latina gets pregnant in real life, she's determined that her character also experiences the joys of motherhood.

She says, "I don't want to be pregnant on the show until I'm pregnant in real life."

"When I get married and get pregnant then hopefully it will be written in. So, I'm looking forward to having a family and doing that."

The bride-to-be is set to marry fiance Tony Parker in July.
