Laurie Struggling With House Success

British actor Hugh Laurie finds it hard to enjoy the success of his hit US medical series House - and admits the show is so demanding he "punches doors" to alleviate stress.

The star landed a Screen Actors Guild award and a Golden Globe for his role as Dr Gregory House in the series earlier this year but he's struggling to deal with the drama's growing popularity.

He says, "There are days when I actually lose it and it's not pretty. I'm not proud to say that I punched a door recently.

"The sheer volume of work, my struggles with the American accent, trying to keep the energy up for 12 to 14-hour stretches can be draining and overwhelming."
