"For One Night" National Teem Essay Contest Launches Focusing On Unity And Tolerance In Honor Of Black History Month.

Why do you think it's important to promote unity and tolerance? What would you do to bring your classmates or community together "For One Night" and beyond? In honor of Black History Month and the premier of "For One Night," which aired last Monday at 9PM ET on Lifetime Television starring teen sensation Raven-Symone, Lifetime Television, Claire's Stores, Youth Service America, and PARADE Magazine are mobilizing teens through a national essay contest to create community service projects that promote tolerance and end discrimination. The essay winner will receive a $500 mini-grant to make their idea a reality for National & Global Youth Service Day (April 21-23, 2006). Essays must be postmarked by March 17, 2006. Claire's Stores is featuring signs promoting the film 'For One Night' and the related essay contest, which are now being displayed in domestic Claire's stores. The contest is open to all high school students who are legal residents of the 50 states or the District of Columbia. Hurricane Relief & Recovery Community Service Grants Open To Youth.

In conjunction with National and Global Youth Service Day, April 21-23, 2006, Youth Service America and America's Promise are offering seventeen $1000 grants to young people (ages 5-25), to implement sustainable relief projects supporting the hurricane relief efforts in the Gulf Region.
