Lost To Stay in Hawaii For Now

The hit TV show "Lost" on ABC will return for a second season of filming in Hawaii, says Barry Jossen, of Touchstone Television.

There had been speculation the filming of the TV show on Oahu might move elsewhere because of the high costs in Hawaii, reported the Honolulu Advertiser Tuesday.

"We are not leaving," said Jossen, who is a graduate of Kalani High School in Hawaii. "Our intention is to stay in Hawaii when and if the network renews us."

The return is contingent on ABC renewing "Lost" for another season, however, given the series' dominance in the ratings, it's almost certain to be renewed.

Jossen met with legislators and Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle to push for legislation that would increase tax credits for TV and film production in the state.

The show has received a tax rebate, however, Jossen said contrary to speculation, the tax rebate had never been a make-or-break issue for the show.
