Halle Berry's bid to become the first female James Bond has been challenged - by Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Sarah Michelle Gellar.
Gellar lightheartedly revealed that she too is fighting for the 007 role once current incumbent Pierce Brosnan gives up the famous part - despite competition from Berry, who impressed as Jinx in current Bond Die Another Day.
The newlywed says, "I want to see more women action stars. I don't see why James Bond has to be a man all the time.
"When Pierce Brosnan retires I'm going to be the next Bond."
