"Clueless" and Batman star Alicia Silverstone is to make her TV series debut as a new Ally McBeal.
The actress will play a quirky New York matrimonial attorney who runs a dating agency on the side in "Sex and the City" creator Darren Star's latest project.
Silverstone, who recently won acclaim for her Broadway debut in "The Graduate", admits she's thrilled about her new character, Samantha Daniels, in the as-yet untitled series, which is scheduled to hit TV screens in America next year.
She says, "If it's interesting material and with people you like, then go for it. Darren's amazing. He's like my love god."
