Love Hewitt's Beauty Crisis

When Jennifer Love Hewitt took on the role of Audrey Hepburn in a TV biopic she was plagued by doubts that she wasn't beautiful enough to play the "Breakfast At Tiffanys" icon.

Reports in the press that she was an unsuitable choice to play the much loved superstar confounded her own doubts and it took some wise words from her mother to get her on set.

Hewitt says, "My biggest crisis was two days before we filmed in Montreal (Canada) and they'd written a bunch of stuff in the press about how I wasn't pretty enough, how I wasn't a good enough actress and how I wouldn't be able to pull it off, and I began to agree, so I tried to quit.

"My mom asked me why, and I said, 'I'm not pretty enough, I'm not a good enough actress and I'm afraid of what people are going to say.' She reminded me of all the research I'd done on her and the three things Audrey Hepburn was most afraid of during her entire life were that she wasn't pretty enough, not talented enough, and was scared of what people thought of her."

"'For those three reasons alone you know what it was like for her, so you have to do it,' my mom said, so I did."
