Jennifer Lopez To Make Sitcom

Movies, music, and now TV, every medium Jennifer Lopez touches turns to gold, will her sitcom do the same?

Jennifer Lopez is to develop a sitcom about her family in a deal with NBC. The actress will star in and produce a musical special this autumn and then produce three more specials, as well as the comedy based on her family and childhood in the Bronx.

Her manager Benny Medina said there was plenty of material for the sitcom. He said Lopez had many stories of growing up in a tightknit Puerto Rican family in the Bronx, with her parents and grandparents trying to keep three attractive sisters on the right path. One sister, Leslie, is raising a family of her own, while Lopez's other sister, Linda, is a VH1 VJ and does local radio and TV work in New York, reports showbiz trade magazine Variety.

"Jennifer tells hilarious stories about growing up all the time, and a show like this, a neighbourhood comedy involving a family in a multicultural environment, with an engaging point of view and a voice, is something NBC has put an emphasis on," said Medina.

Jennifer will act as a hands-on executive producer for the sitcom as the storylines will revolve around her personal experiences.
